In a running engagement stretching across several star systems in the war-torn regions of Placid, Black Rise, and Essence, Gallente Militia Capsuleers from GMVA, FEDUP, BEBOP, BLFOX, Rapid Withdrawal, and many other organizations fought R.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N. pilots for control of the space lanes.
Using blaster-equipped Brutixes, the Gallente Militia forces were outmatched in terms of technology and maneuverability, but made up for it in terms of sheer firepower and determination. After a fight in the Hikkoken system, trading several Brutixes for a Sleipnir and Hurricane, a second match was had in Vlillirier. This engagement went more poorly for Gallente forces, which were caught out of effective range by the pirate recon cruiser stasis webifiers and warp disruptors. Brutixes, hindered by their low thrust/mass ratio, were unable to engage and a retreat was called. Unfortunately, more accurate battle report data is difficult to link here, as there is so much continuous combat that one engagement blends to the next in these systems, making combat hard to differentiate.
This loss did not deter the fleet, however, which reshipped and continued to patrol the area, seeking additional foes, before finally falling upon an unprepared R.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N. force in Heydieles, the main base of operations for their piratical activities. This engagement took place at a Mordus Legion military site, where a Rattlesnake-class battleship attempted to liberate an outpost from Mordus control. Unfortunately for R.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N., S’enah Fohre, Director of Moira. corporation and Bloodhound of the fleet, discovered this and immediately rallied all available interceptor pilots to engage. Warp disruptors were engaged, trapping the surprised Rattlesnake, while the Brutix and Vexor squadron entered the Heydieles system and engaged warp to join the fray.
The fleet descended upon the R.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N. Rattlesnake and achieved total mobility control over it. Acting as fleet commander, I ordered the Rattlesnake to be priority target even though additional R.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N. ships entered the fray to free their trapped friend. The destruction of this ship would prove to be sweet revenge for the losses earlier in Vlillirier. Not satisfied with this, however, we turned out blasters towards anything else within reach, and we managed to destroy several more ships before R.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N. ceded the field.
I thank all pilots that participated in this operation, particularly the brave interceptor pilots that sacrificed their ships for the initial phase of the Heydieles engagement. I also thank the crews of the Brutixes, and send condolences to the families of those who died on the ships that were lost. They served the Federation today in turning back the tide of piracy in our border territories, if only for a brief few moments.
Brutixes remain a steadfast example of Gallente military shipbuilding, delivering intense firepower in a cost-effective, mobile package. Their internal structure is second to none for their class, freeing substantial power reserves for offensive weaponry in addition to electronic and propulsion equipment. After micro jump drives were developed, this platform truly began to shine, as it gains a useful offensive and defensive option: diving into the fray to gain control over a target, or evading a superior force. Beyond this, they exemplify the fury of Gallente defensive power to any who would dare harm our society. We shall fly them again soon.
